Cory Weiss is a Project Director with Sustainable Finance Ltd.  Prior to joining SFL, Cory spent six years at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, where she negotiated OECD agreements on environmental guidelines for official export credit agencies and on beneficial financing terms for renewable energy projects. Cory partnered with staff across the Bank to revise Ex-Im Bank’s Environmental Procedures and Guidelines in accordance with multilateral agreements and to revitalize the Bank’s Environmental Exports Program in order to finance more environmentally friendly exports.  An expert on multilateral rules governing official export finance, she advised senior policymakers and U.S. exporters on responding to increased financial flows from Chinese and other emerging market ECAs not bound by OECD rules.  In addition, she guided foreign export credit agencies in designing disclosure policies based on Ex-Im Bank’s experience with U.S. transparency laws.  At Ex-Im Bank, she worked with financial institutions, U.S. exporters, NGOs, and foreign governments to identify consensus approaches to the complex risks facing officially financed projects in emerging markets.

As a Strategic Research Consultant in the Corporate Executive Board's Finance practice, Cory researched and presented best practice case studies on designing incentives to ensure strategy execution, developing leading indicators of performance, and rigorously evaluating potential projects against qualitative as well as quantitative criteria.  Cory also worked in Morgan Stanley's Debt Capital Markets Services group, where her clients included REITS, utilities, and airlines.  She has a B.A. from Williams College and a master's degree from the University of California, San Diego.
