Mariangeles is an expert in evaluating financial risks associated with environmental and social issues with 15 years of international experience in credit risk management, commercial and investment banking. She was worked as risk manager of Suleasing Internacional, a cross border leasing company with operations in Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and Central America. She designed, implemented and administered the company's Environmental Management System and provided advice to other financial institutions in the Andean Region. Based on this work, an Environmental Management System for other Latin American institutions was developed.

Mariangeles' international experience also includes work as a research specialist for the Socially Responsible Investments Unit with UBS Global Asset Management Division and providing consulting services for the International Finance Corporation (IFC). In addition, she has evaluated the green credit line of credit for Colombian medium size companies created by SECO.

Mariangeles holds a Master of Science in Finance from Bentley College (Massachusetts).
